1. Changed your mind? 14-day returns (consumers)
Under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013, if you are a consumer you may cancel your order for any reason up to 14 days after the day you receive the goods.
- How to cancel: email info@hgctechnologies.uk or message us on WhatsApp stating that you wish to cancel, with your name and order details. You may use the cancellation form wording at the bottom of this page.
- Returning the goods: send the laptop back within 14 days of telling us. Please use the original packaging where possible and a tracked service — the laptop is your responsibility until it reaches us. Return postage is at your cost unless the item is faulty or not as described.
- Your refund: the full price including standard delivery, refunded within 14 days of us receiving the goods back (or proof of postage), to your original payment method.
- Handling allowance: you may inspect the laptop as you would in a shop. We may reduce the refund if the value is diminished by use beyond that — for example heavy usage, installed software not removed, or physical damage.
2. Faulty goods — your statutory rights (consumers)
Under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, goods must be as described, of satisfactory quality, and fit for purpose — taking into account that they are clearly described as refurbished and graded for cosmetic condition.
- Within 30 days of delivery: if the laptop is faulty, you may reject it for a full refund, including return postage.
- After 30 days and within 6 months: we will repair or replace the laptop; if we cannot, you are entitled to a refund. A fault appearing in this period is presumed to have been present at delivery unless we can show otherwise.
- After 6 months: our 12-month warranty (below) continues to cover hardware faults.
3. 12-month warranty (consumer purchases)

Making a claim: contact us with your order details and a description (photos or a short video help). We will confirm return instructions — warranty repairs are return-to-base, and we cover return postage for confirmed faults. We aim to repair or replace within 14 days of receiving the device. Please back up your data first — repairs may require the storage drive to be wiped, and we are not responsible for data loss.
This warranty is in addition to your statutory rights and does not affect them.
4. Trade and business orders
Consumer cancellation rights and the Consumer Rights Act remedies above apply to consumers only. Trade orders carry a 14-day DOA replacement policy and a return-to-base warranty as stated on the order confirmation (90 days unless agreed otherwise). Export orders: warranty is return-to-base to our Watford facility; carriage both ways for export warranty claims is the customer's responsibility unless agreed in writing.
